American oak adds a refined ruggedness and long savoury finish to this elegant and perfectly balanced fruit forward cool climate wine. A style suited to all occasions it is ready for drinking now but with the weight and complexity to improve with cellaring.
Grapes were de-stemmed and lightly crushed into open top fermenters. Moderate ferment temperatures with indigenous yeasts were used. The wine was matured in a combination of French & American Oak barrels for 20 months and underwent a spring Malolactic fermentation.
The medium weight but firm structure and vibrancy of this wine ensure it has many possibilities with food matches. Perfect with barbequed steak, hotpots and rich pasta dishes.
